Shane Romero is a transplant from Denver,CO. At the age of 16, he was put into the teachings of nationally known poet, Ken Arkind. Shane started building a name for himself in spoken word and slam poetry by attacking venues across Denver. Shane sticks out every time he touches stage. His poetry is a reflection of his personal life and what his eyes see on a daily basis. Shane’s writings take a direct shot and address issues in the inner city, race, and the constant battle of love. Shane’s approach when touching the stage is to keep his poetry as raw and pure as he can to always maintain himself in his writings. Shane hopes to touch everyone that is listening to his story in hopes they can relate or to help someone who may be going through a similar situation. While in Denver Shane was a part of major slams and shows held throughout the city. At the age of 20, Shane then followed his dreams of being a full time spoken word artist on a larger scale and moved to Los Angeles, Ca. While in California, Shane has featured at countless venues and colleges throughout the entire state. Shane was a member of the 2009/2010 Inland Empire slam team which took second in group piece finals at the 2010 national poetry slam held in St. Paul Mn, and 2009/2010 Inkslam Inland Empire slam team. Shane is currently a member of the 2011 Denver Mercury Cafe slam team. Up to date, Shane is now currently residing in Brooklyn, Ny. Shane has now toured throughout the whole nation an completed one book and has another book set to release in 2012. Shane has done shows along side many nationally acclaimed poets. Shane’s ultimate goal in poetry is to help those around him and those that are listening to his story. Shane hopes to inspire others to reach for thier highest dreams as he is accomplishing his own. Shane also wants to give back to the community and youth who will follow in his foot steps. In 2008 Shane was the coach for the Inland Empire BNV youth slam team which was on HBO an was held in Washington, Dc. Shane will continue to bare his story and life on stage for years to come.
